Just another overdrive matter...
I have seen a 58 DeSoto Diplomat 4d Sedan in Sweden. This is a 58 Plymouth
with the DeSoto front if you didn't already know that. This car had a 318
with a 3 speed automatic, torqueflite. It also had a handle all the way to
the left in the aluminiuminsert where you have all the fan-knobs etc. This
handle was the overdrive. It was original equipment and he bought the car
new in 1959 or 1960 very cheap because the overdrive never worked! The
saleman said "It will never work!" but he fixed it at a petrolstation for
$1 !! And it is still working!
