[FWDLK] "I am going to cancel the opportunity for a 2ND GFS NATS (for the year 2000 in Utah)"

Jack, sorry to hear that. Also sorry I missed both you and Ed Dea at
Chrysler Performance West's SPRING FLING in Van Nuys. I was there,
and saw only Bill Gillette's '56 Fury. (Good for Bill.)

My local car club, the California Chrysler Products Club, has a
relatively large Mopar show it puts on, next one is in Fremont coming
up Oct. 1, 2000. We generally get 200-300 really nice cars, and the
swap meet is very good too (for Mopar).

I'm Secretary of the Club this year, and our President owns a '57
Fury. I'm going to see if we can't get the club to spotlight or
feature the Plymouth Fury as the theme of this year's show. I'm
going to enter my two '56 Furys and my '56 convertible wanna-be-Fury,
ready or not. I'll show them in progress if I have to. Maybe Ed Dea
could bring his. We also have a couple of other local '56 Furys
(Concord, Newark, San Leandro). If we give enough time notice, maybe
we can get a real good Fury draw.

Anyway, I'm proposing an ad hoc meeting of Golden Fin '56-'58 Furys
at Ohlone College (Fremont, CA) 10-1-2000, rain or shine.

Hi Bill,
Sorry I missed all you folks, but absolutely weird weather hit us this whole
weekend. Regarding the Nats, since you need an answer right away; and the
fact that I STILL HAVE ONLY two entries; I am going to cancel the
opportunity for a 2ND GFS NATS (for the year 2000 in Utah). We are now down
to less than two months before the NATs, with only two entries (besides me).
At three months before the NATs last year, we had eight entries.

In the meanwhile, Russ Nardi ('56 Fury Owner) is working on a GFS National
for the year 2001 at the Chrysler Historical Museum. There has been
interest from the East Coast in holding a Nats there; and Russ has jumped in
and gotten things going for 2001. It will be a joint venture with the local
Plymouth Owners Club, but looks to be a ton of fun, particulars will
follow!!

I will forward this to the GFS List.
