Re: [FWDLK] Throttle Body Injection

Bill,

The simplest update, and probably more reliable , is to install a new 500
cfm Carter AFB or Eldebock (same thing) 4 bbl carb. Also much cheaper. It
should fit nicely on your 4 bbl DeSoto intake by using a gasket as a
template to drill new mounting stud holes and to open up the throttle bores
with a hole saw (manifold off the engine of course).

I installed a Holly throttle body injection system on my neighbor's 1983 302
Ford pickup a few years ago. You need to install a temperature sensor, new
all metal pressurized fuel line, return fuel line, electronic control box,
wiring, high pressure electric fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, modern
fuel filter, etc, and the factory air cleaner did not fit. After all of that
and numerous attempts at adjustments, it ran OK, but it did not run any
better. And off idle performance was down. After a year, he went back to a
carb.

Thought I'd pass this along. Mostly advertisement,
but some info as well.
