Re: [FWDLK] 55 Plymouth 3sp tranny to 4sp standard ?

Mark,
It's possible to put a speed from the 70's MOPAR (I forget the number
designation) with the industrial adaptor MOPAR had in the sixties. I got one
from an airline tug and have a 518 Torqueflite overdrive hooked up to a flat
six. It gives you the bolt pattern of a small block V8 (318-340-360). It's
not easy finding heavy equipment salvage yards but they are out there. Look
for an airline tug ( used to tow airplanes around airports) made by Clark in
the 60's with the Chrysler industrial six and a Torqueflite trans. It's a
cast steel adaptor about 1 inch thick with a spacer ring for the flywheel.
