Re: [FWDLK] AC Questions

Maverick,

I have original factory a/c in my '56 Imperial, and it works beautifully. My
wife and I have to keep sweaters in the car because it usually gets too
cold!!

Nothing will top an original vs. aftermarket in appearance or function. List
member Roger Howard and I are both attempting to install Factory A/C on our
'59 Plymouths. I would recommend getting several pictures of your make model
with A/C. Also make sure it has the same engine size, engine accessories,
etc. I would also recommend converting to 134a refrigerant. Factory A/C is
somewhat difficult to install on a non A/C car. You must have alot of
patience and time to do it right. It can be done though. You may have it
alot easier since your evaporator assembly mounts in the trunk. You won't
have to modify your firewall and Roger and I did. You just have to make sure
of all the engine compartment stuff. Hope this helps.

considering buying factory A/C for my '55 Desoto. Does anyone have a car
with factory A/C? How well does it work? Is it recommended? Would I be
better of with an aftermarket A/C setup?
