Just a related short story.....a few years ago a Hemmings ad
described a very rare 57 TBird with the "E" option and
almost every other option, but the car had been destroyed
beyond repair in a fire, so the owner was selling the VIN
tag for - as I recall - $12,000!!
Don't know the outcome but it was interesting.
