Chris,
I would go ahead and install those options anyway. Just try to make sure you
install them as close as possible as the factory would have. The vast
majority of people would not know or care if you add a few factory options,
and most would actually prefer their car that way. It was only a matter of a
check box on the order form when the car was ordered new.
You will find more objections if you added items that were not factory
options. Such as a stereo radio or chrome wheels.
What we seriously object to is called "cloning". I think a clone could be
defined as a major upgrade in the value of a car by changing the appearance
to imitate a more expensive model, usually requiring a VIN change for the
model number.

I've been reading on the list how options are listed on build sheets,

it never occurred to me that they were.
I have a 1960 Imperial LeBaron. A number of years a go I found another '60
LeBaron, this one a parts car that had almost every option mine did not --
Mirrormatic, AutoPilot, the automatic high-beam changer, the rear deck air
conditioning unit. It also carried the standard decklid, not the Flitesweep
one. Mine has the Flitesweep deck, on '60 Imperials I prefer the standard
one.
I'd planned to install all those options/items onto my car. If I were to
make a correct restoration, does this mean I should not install them because
they aren't listed as having been installed on the assembly line per my
car's
build sheet?
If that's the case, I wouldn't install them. Could easily live without the
Mirrormatic, AutoPilot, and other options. But keeping the Flitesweep
decklid would be disappointing.
