Re: [FWDLK] DOT 5 Brake Fluid...

William,
I have always been told that silicone and regular fluid don't mix. Therefore you will have to flush all your lines, etc.

Subject: [FWDLK] DOT 5 Brake Fluid...

I wanted to ask if anyone has had the experience of converting their brake fluid to the newer Dot 5 ( I believe that's what it's called ) silicone based brake fluid? Is it safe to use on our old style brake systems?

Would a proportioning valve decrease brake peddle travel?

( I'm in the process of my front disc brake conversion.)
