[FWDLK] Fuel problems??

What year Buick? I'm an ASE certified technician. If she's got a carburetor, then the problem you describe sounds like a massive vacuum leak. That is to say, that if the car runs O.K. while cruising, or under moderate throttle application, and the only real problem is that it will not idle, then you have either a vacuum leak, or a carburetor problem. Sometimes a carburetor's idle circuit becomes gummed up, and the car will fail to idle properly, or at all. Check all of your vacuum hoses first. A PCV valve supply hose (usually a 3/8" rubber hose, on GM cars) that has a split, or is broken, will cause a massive air leak, which will prevent proper idling of the engine. And, I'm sure you're not the only Forwardlook fan that has owned a Buick. I just sold my ' 55 Special a few months ago!  You can e-mail me, if you like, ( fury 109) and I'll help as best I can "on line". Happy New Year, all! --    Zach--
