Re: [FWDLK] PLYMOUTH QUESTIONS

Ed - I have the rubber bellows type box in my 59. I've seen pictures of other 59's with metal boosters. This past summer my booster developed a 2" split in the rubber and braking is terrible. I plan on putting front discs on this winter thus eliminating the booster or using a small metal replacement booster. I just checked my "brake folder" and see that .....Carps Power Brake Service, 64 N. Central Ave., Upland, CA 91786...PH #909-985-0800 make reproduction brake bellows.  Don't know anything about them or their products. On the power steering subj --- a few years ago I had a local Plymoth dealer here in Wisconsin replace seals on my pwr steering box. It stopped the leaks and tightened up the steering considerably.

Subject: [FWDLK] PLYMOUTH QUESTIONS

Hello List Members,,,,,
For 57/58 and maybe even 59 Plym......Maybe even Dodge too......

Does anyone know the rules for the 'SQUEEZE-BOX' power brake booster as compared to the CANNISTER booster?????
Were they both used in 58??
SQUEEZE BOX only in 57???
Or was the CANNISTER type a later replacement for the SQUEEZE-BOX??

Does anyone else out there have a CANNISTER type that 'hisses' as if it had a vacuum leak when brake depressed?
Both my 58,, and now my 57 have' hissing cannisters'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any new contacts on who can put new seals in power steering pumps?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Happy Motoring
