[FWDLK] MoPar "Govier" Guide

This is kind of an open-letter to Larry Jett, whom I've
corresponded-with, previously, but who I met, @ Spring Fling, this past
Week end, in L.A. .

Mopar Collector's guide was giving out free, their current issue
(4/03), @ their booth. I was beginning to read it, today, & immediately
noticed, in Galen Govier's "column" , that he had been invited to
present his "own" "original-car" trophy, @ a Chrysler 'show', near
Frisco, this past fall.

Anyway, Ol Galen clearly 'described' Larry's 61 4-dr sedan D500 Rammie
(which, BTW, is in Factory-new condition) , and an original-owner(!!!!)
1949 Chrysler as being 'finalists' in his trophy-consideration.

So , to what did G.G. award "his' award ? A "Plum-Crazy" colored1970
RT/SE challenger, that happened to have (are you ready for this??) :

Rear seat shoulder-belts !

G.G. does go on to mention that 'one' of the reasons for granting "his"
award was due to his familiarity with Muscle cars, & how RARE the rear
seat shoulder-belts were/are.

Anyway (II) , the moral of this 'story' is that MoPar people are just as
guilty of brand/marque myopia/prejudice as are the good-people who only
"see" Chebbies, @ car shows .

G.G. thought that rear seat shoulder belts are more -rare than
(original!) 1961 4-dr Rammies,
and/or original-owner 1949 Chryslers!

Larry, your car is awesome (even tho its 'only' all-white, with a brown
interior--compared to a Plumb Crazy RT/SE [w/rear seat shoulder-belts!]
