Re: [FWDLK] Incontinent, again

Next time you're under the car, take out the adjuster wheel bolt and slide
the cable assy. out a ways(you might want to screw a longer bolt in its
place to preserve the adjustment setting). Then, give things a blast of
brake cleaner to clean off the oil and squeeze in a bead of Permatex "Ultra
Blue" silicone gasket maker into the gap between the adjuster wheel and the
case. When you push the cable back in, it will be sealed from the outside
by a bead of silicone . It might be a good idea to take a good look at the
cable housing, they have been known to develop cracks in the outer cover
causing the atf to run down the cable and drip off the adjustment fitting.
If the cable itself is seeping you can slide a length of fuel line over
the cable and clamp it on both ends with small geardrive clamps.

And then, there's the matter of the o-ring in the tranny pushbutton cable
housing. Yes, it really helped a lot, for a while. And while the leak
isn't anything like it used to be, it's back. Am I likely to see any
benefit from Gunk/Solder-Seal's product "M15-12" on a new o-ring?
