[FWDLK] Repairing Power Window Switches

I had good luck repairing my 1956 Imperial master power window switch this
past weekend, and would like to share my how-to with others who, like me,
have been hesitant to tackle this type of work:

I've been told that 1951-56 switches are of the same design, and that other
Forward Look era switches are very similar.  If anyone knows for sure and
could give me additions or corrections for how to deal with other years, I'd
be happy to add the information to the page.
