Re: [FWDLK] ebay fraud been there done that

hi,

another thing with these items if you ask the seller a question he may offer to sell you the item out right, which is where i came unstuck,

there was an engine for sale [porsche twin turbo] the guy selling it was only bid a few though on it and was getting close to end of auction, so i e-mail him using the link on the ebay page, to confirm a shipping price to england, he replied that he had been messed around in the past and would sell the item for $6000 now including shipping, which i agreed to.

his feedback was 99% perfect, and emails sent back and forward ok, so i transferred the money into his account, which he acknowledged and waited for the engine to come.

anyway to cut a long story short, no motor came, he would not answer emails, postal address in the states did not exist, and bank account was closed after money transferred to ukraine bank.

ebay reply was that the account had been taken over and they were looking into it, but they could do nothing to help or give out information, i have the police and the fraud squad on to it at moment, he has since had the engine back on ebay under a different name,

if anyone comes across this guy he is called STANISLAV  MEJAKOV,  and gives out an us postal address.

the only thing i can say is be 110% sure before you lay out any money on some of these auctions, the amount of scams going on over the internet at the moment us unreal.

be careful out there money is hard enough to earn as it is.

thanks
paul.
