You should have a nice exploded view of the emergency brake in your Shop
Manual. Probably in the "Brakes" or "Transmission" sections. Including
disassembly/installation/adjustment instructions.
There is a large pin on top of the tranny tail housing that keeps the brake
assembly from rotating. For transmission removal, the manual instructions
say to remove a small keeper pin and slide the entire brake assembly off as
a whole with the large pin attached. That might work when the parts are new,
but after 50 years, that large pin will be very frozen to the tranny tail
housing and impossibly to remove. It will be easier to disconnect the cable
or disassemble the brake assembly.

A while back I got information from the list on the transmission emergency
brakes on our ForwardLook Powerflite and Torqueflite trannys. I am getting
ready to tackle the Powerflite on my '57 and '59 Coronets, and can't find
information in the Archives. Anyone remember where it is? Also, someone
was good enough to send an exploded diagram and information that I saved
which is now trapped in my old computer until I can get into the saved mail
in the AOL filing cabinet. If anyone saved that info, and could forward it,
