[FWDLK] Introduction

Hi,
My name is Winfred Parker, and I am located in Paragould, Arkansas, which is in the Northeast corner of the state near Memphis, TN.  I just joined this list after stumbling upon the website.  I found your site when I was looking for the "Buried Plymouth" story, which I was told about when I purchased my car recently (because mine is very similar to the buried one).  I don't own a computer, so I go bum off my daughter, and she does all the technical stuff for me, like typing and cruising eBay.
My vehicle is a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 2-door sedan in poly gold/white.  It has a 301 with a powerflight transmission.  It has 112,000 miles with the original engine/drivetrain.  I purchased my vehicle at the first of December 2003 in Cullman, Alabama, from the owner that had purchased the car from the grandson of the original owner from Port Angela, Washington.  It was bought new there by his grandfather, and was stored for 18 years after his death.  My car came with the owner's manual and shop manual, the original bill of sale (bought 1-7-57 for a '54 Plymouth and $2K), and it even has the original 1957 Washington license plate on the front bumper, which is pretty neat since Arkansas doesn't require front plates, so we can keep it on there.  The owner I purchased the car from was using it as a daily-driver and wasn't really interested in selling it.  I had been looking to buy another '57 or '58 Plymouth for a while.  In the '60's, I used to drag-race a '57 with a modified 301 with a standard transmission (a former taxicab), and I sure made some Chevy owners sick!  In '65, I built a stock car out of a '57 hardtop--can you believe we cut one of those up??!
I plan on restoring my car for car show purposes and Sunday driving.  I am a charter member of the Crowley's Ridge Cruisers car club, which is the largest club in this area.  We have a large annual car show in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  We raise money for various charities and have a good time doing it.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to join this list.  I'll have to come over and bug my daughter all the time so I can keep up with the posts.  HA.
Winfred Parker (and Melanie Mace, best daughter ever)
