You should be able to find rear shocks for a Dodge truck that will fit. Or
shocks from a 60s vintage muscle car.
You might also consider a shock with a built-in overload coil spring. I have
Monroe Load Leveler overload shocks on my Dodge. They added about 2 inches
of lift. I think you can also still buy clamp-on overload coils that go over
your current shocks from someplace like JC Whitney. I have used these in the
past on my 65 Coronet.
Another option is small coil springs that clamp onto the rear axel tube
under the frame. I also have these on my Dodge. They only make contact when
the rear settles 2 inches from a load or a bump, so they don't affect ride
stiffness, but will come into play on corners.

I am thinking about adding air shocks to my son's 55 to pick it's sagging
rear a bit.
The nice lady at Kragen told me it wasn't listed in her catalog. I would
have to identify the length of the shock and the type of end fasteners and
look for a similar shock. Kragen sells Monroe Air-Shocks.
Has anyone already gone thru this exercise?
