Actually, there is no verification that the car came off the line with a
1961 Plymouth front clip.  An awful lot can happen to a car in 40+ years.

The side mouldings can be modified by someone expert in metal work.  This
type of thing is done at custom body shops all the time.  Same, too, with
the grille and adding the three cross bars to fill the space behind the
Plymouth emblem.

Someone had to do it.  It is just that no one knows who did.  Or when.

What research??  Suggests??  The VIN does not have a "9" for the assembly
plant.  Chrysler of Canada did not built Dodge Polaras in Canada in 1961.
It is not a Canadian car.   Simple.  Case closed.

If the owner has a spare $45 he can write to Chrysler Historical and get a
copy of the build record.  That should answer a few questions.

Sorry, but this thing is no mystery.
