     My Powerflite at times was downshifting on its own when accelerating in high range and at about 35 mph.  I bought a shifter adjustment tool and adjusted the shift band.  The tool is what was used in the good ol days when working on Powerflites.  That pretty much cured the problem, but I intend to go back and do it again just to be sure.

     If you want, I can look to see if it will work on Torqueflites. You might also have pump pressures checked at your local transmission shop who should have the correct guages to check it out.  I intend to do that also.
