This car has 325 c.i. cylinder heads probably installed on its OEM 325
c.i. Poly-head engine.
This was a relatively common procedure, but mostly seen on 1957 models.
The car's engine block's stamping number (which the seller
disingenuously declines to provide) will tell a lot about the history of
the engine, as will the stamped date codes on the
carbureator's brass tag.
The air cleaner is not a 1957 Dodge unit; but a 1957-1958 CHRY/IMP
piece.
354 Truck Hemi engines were used thru 1958
(and maybe beyond) and featured smaller valves and other truck-unique
features for higher torque/low speed usage.
Their primary parts-usage is for their 4-bolt high-flow exhaust
manifolds, and, for restoring D501's: their plain non-embossed valve
covers.
The heavy-duty/long-haul V800 & V900 trucks
used these 354 engines, with the latter even receiving dual quads,
although I can't remember what series of Carter carbs these trucks
received.

There is a saying I learned a long time ago in law enforcement :
"Possibility vs. probability"
Could it have happened ? I suppose it was possible.
What were the chances ? Not very probable.
Clues like the blue paint suggest it has been meddled with at some point in the interim.
So, then the question becomes "What is the objective?" Does someone want to buy this car ? If so, is it what they want for the money spent ? If the goofy engine is too much trouble, ..... keep looking. Simple as that !
If it is close enough and an engine swap at a later date is OK, then by all means .... enjoy it !
The bottom line is that a 354 Hemi in a 58 Dodge is not the stock offering, be it factory or some shadetree mechanic job. Still, if it floats yer boat, . ... go for it !
