Didn't the late 60's Dodge trucks have available a "textured" type of top coating if you so wanted? I had a 71 Adventurer that had a matte black finish, that was "textured" as such, resembled a vinyl or wrinkled look.

Yes, the 1959 DeSoto Adventurer had a textured finish on the roof.  It was
not a vinyl roof nor a roof covering, but a paint that gave a leather grain
effect.

Have yet to come across any paint codes for them, though.
