Re: [Chrysler300] On the road, again. 1964 Bulkhead connector question

Good to have you back, you passed the test.

Not sure about the K, but most of these type of connectors are the same. Your mileage may vary!

Usually, these connectors have a little tab sticking up, which locks it when pushed into the connector.
When it is all the way in, the tab pops up into a formed notch and prevents it from being pulled back out.
This is true for both Male and Female connectors..
From the connector side, use a small flat blade screwdriver. Slide it in on top of the connector and gently twist the screwdriver.
With the screwdriver positioned to the side and the blade being twisted so the blade pushed down in the middle.
This will push the tab down and allow the terminal to be pulled out.
To reinstall, tweak the tab up before pushing the terminal in so as to lock it again.
You may find it works better from the wire side.

You can also try to pull the terminal out through the front, push the lock down and pull it back through using the wire to pull it.

Good luck and let us know how it worked out.

I just re-upped and I’m checking to see if I can get back online with you and receive your pearls of wisdom.

A question on the bulkhead connector on the 1964 Chrysler 300K:  Is it possible to remove the terminals at the ends of the dash loom from the backside (passenger compartment side) of the bulkhead connector?  If so, is there a special tool or technique for removing these terminals without damaging them?
