Re: fuel sending units. 65 B-body

It’s funny, though, Gary.  I like to think I love all cars but just like everyone else, I have my biases.  I suppose it’s because I’m a Mopar guy, but in my head I can rationalize Project MoVelle as I feel the Mopar part of it - the 440 - is superior.  On the other hand, if I would see a beloved ‘64 Fury like mine but dressed out as “Project 349.85” as you say - with a 350 Chevy - I would likely be revolted 😀.

The concept of Project MoVelle came about because a few years ago I had a 69 Chevelle drag car more or less fall in my lap.  Being a race enthusiast, I jumped at it.  Built a serious motor despite the fact that it was a bowtie and it was a quick car.  Ran very consistently in the 9 second range.  Despite all that, I always felt the need to “plead my case” among the Mopar crowds at the track that indeed I was one of them.  (It never worked … and I figured I should never bring it up in this clubhouse for fear of being shunned by the herd).

Anyway, Covid hit, then Kim and I started having grand babies, and as it happens, the drag racing Saturdays went by the wayside.  The Chevelle was sold along with the notion of Project MoVelle.  I’m back to scaring kids at the Dairy Queen with the bad a** Fury with the Frankenstein version of DD’s Old Reliable recipe.

Grand babies, a ‘64 Fury, and by God’s grace a beautiful wife and a healthy life.  Perhaps after all it doesn’t matter what’s under that guy’s hood…

Good points Jim.

"Project MoVell" is too cool for school. Guaranteed "conversation starter material.

How about putting an old 350 Chebby engine in a '62-'65 Mopar? You could paint "Project 349.85" on the side of the
Mopar -- and let the head scratching begin. (The Chebby's "350" exact displacement is 349.85cubic inches.)

Thanks,
Gary H.

wiring harness, ECM, tuning is all the same learning curve and it would be so much more ... well, everything.

get under everyone's skin 😊
