RE: Hard starting



I have been reading this series with great interest.  I have been 
thinking that my car needs a tune up because it does not start after a 
few days immmediately.  Your description is exactly what my Poly engine 
does.

After a couple of days, it turns over for a few seconds (perhaps as many 
as 5 seconds.  I don't like to hold the starter engaged too long at at 
time.  I generally turn it over twice (totalling 10 seconds) and then it 
just starts.

When warm, it almost does not turn over, it just runs.

When first started after a few days, it also is a bit sluggish for about 
500 feet and then runs beautifully.

I have about 7000 miles since I put it on the road and drive 300 miles 
on a tank on the highway so I think that the carb is working okay.
