Cast Iron Heads for 426 street wedge

I would use the 516 heads. They are the right ones for a 426 wedge and can

I believe you'll find all 516 castings have the small 1.60 exhaust valves,
not the larger 1.74 like the 452 castings. I also think you'll find that
they do NOT have hardened exhaust valve seats. ...more

Didn't you read my post about the 516 heads at all??? You will notice I
covered the valve size and hardened seats are addressed. I used the
steel shim head gasket on my low compression 440 ...more

Instrument Specialties have been listed on the site's vendor page for a long time. Which is a good sign imho. I have not used them though.

Not as tough putting in as you all make it out to be. It is small than the 318 poly. Maybe just new motor mounts and headers. I put a 331 hemi in a 65 Coronet, that was all I needed.  DJ
