Your 60 should have resonators then mufflers under the passenger 
area(ish) of the floorboard.  There is nothing but pipe in the gas tank 
area.  Looking at the exhaust bending instructions on the web site it 
looks like they were this way from '59 to '66 but I know nothing past 
'63 so can't swear to it.
