Re: IML: more on alternators

I'm still trying to figure out what to do about replacing the alternator on my 1969 Imperial. It came with a positive brush alternator part #2675713 and transistorized three prong regulator part #2875400. The original alternator that came on the car is gone. Am I able to use a 1970 or later alternator to replace it? If so, can I use the OEM transistorized regulator with the three prong wire hookup or use a post 1969 regulator with the two prongs, part number 3438150? Thanks.
