   I'm a radial guy - I think radials are superior to bias tires for 
everything except snows on old trucks., but I haven't owned an Imperial 
older than '62. I also _drive_ my cars, which can make a difference.
   9.5 is an amazingly wide tire for a 14in rim - if you could find a 
245/75R14, that'd almost eliminate your loss of height. If not, I don't know 
about going to a smaller tire... In that case, I might stick with bias.
