Re: IML: Imperial Club

Okay, but what about the regional clubs for Imperial. We have two in CA, North and South, and we gather yearly for a statewide meet, this year in Bakersfield, 4/24 to 4/27. Usually we have around 40 plus cars and have a great time together. I do wonder if all of the CA IMLers show up with their cars at club events and at the Statewide Meet. Seems to me there might be a disconnect between participating on the computer and participating in events with our cars. Aren't there more than 40 Imperial owners in California who might show off their cars? Or are Imperials really that rare???? And what about other states and club gatherings? Where are the IMperials???

My two cents

Our current Imperial Club is by far better than the old IOCI. I still have an IOCI sticker on the inside of the rear window of my '62 Imperial. The IOCI was OK as far as it went, but, Joe Rezzino did not make an effective transition to the computer world. He used a computer to generate some of the newsletters, but had paper copies printed by a printer in his area. He passed away years ago and his family members tried to keep the IOCI alive for a while, but ultimately were unsuccessful and the club came to an end. I still have a number of the newsletters.

Our on-line Imperial club is by far the best way to distribute/share information and maintain a club for our cars. There is such easy access to the information on-line and many people have contributed material. We are indebted to our web masters, who have done such a great job and continue to do so. Our hats are off to all of them!

If window decals are produced what form should they take? I would vote for the Imperial Eagle which was used from about '55 through the 60's. The Pentastar was used throughout the Mopar line, so it is not distinctive enough.
