Well here is my 2 cents worth.
For my 56 Dodge it will remain all stock. For the amount of miles and slow
cruising it will see the original non power brakes will be just fine.
For my 56 Plym well that is a different story.  This car will see everyday
street and occasional drag strip use.  The problem is not normal stopping
but what happens when you have a "spirited" ride.  These old brakes tend to
fade quickly and dramatically especially on a hot day. The last car I had
with 4 drums (a 68 Buick Skylark) was of until you tried to haul it down
from speed then whooooooa the brakes would go away and at best you miss the
exit at worst...luckily that never happened.
