Re: [FWDLK] Last Year For Hemi Imperial

Mark,

The car is a 1959 Imperial LeBaron 4-door Southampton (aka hardtop). It is
not a Crown, which was the middle priced series which had but one "moon
ring" on each fin.

George was indeed correct and the only engine available in the 1959 Imperial
was the 413-cid V8, with a 4-bbl carburetor. Cross ram manifolds were not
available on any Imperial, in any year. Just to throw a monkey wrench into
the engine situation, the 1959 Imperial Custom Crown limousines by Ghia did
have the 392-cid hemi V8, but that was because they were built from leftover
1958 Imperials that were updated with 1959 trim. Seems Chrysler
overestimated Ghia demand during 1958.

As for production, 622 LeBaron 4-door Southampton hardtops were built.
