[FWDLK] Front end rebuilding

Hi everyone,

I'm rebuilding the front end of my '58 Plymouth. Everything is going well
(new ball joints and new bushings all around) apart for one small thing :
the lower control arm does not go all the way into the frame crossmember (up
to the 'ring' on the arm). The bolt which is in front of the frame
crossmember is NOT torqued yet, so I suppose that it will pull the arm
further when that will be done, but I doubt it because I tried hammering the
shaft from the torsion bar hole (with caution and only twice) and it did not
move at all (it just bounced). Is that the solution or am I missing
something ? I'm not even sure that the correct position of the arm is when
the 'ring' is shouldered on the frame crossmember, for that matter ...

Thanks for your help.
