Re: [FWDLK] Build Sheets from Chrysler Historical

That auction has the actual window sticker. Gave up waiting for all the
stuff to load but did find that pic.

As I understand it, the build sheet listed all the items that were to
go into each particular car, and went to the different depts that fed
the ass'y line. This was so they could get the right stuff on the feed
lines to all come together in the sequential order. Not sure when this
practice started, so your findings may vary.

Before sending off to Chrysler, look under the rear seat and/or the
seat back. Also up over the glove box. They've been found in other
hidden spots. You're looking for a piece of paper folded up with all
the info on it. It's a form with various boxes filled in with typed
code numbers. Follow this link to an eBay auction of a 1964 Chrysler
300K. It has a photo of the backside of the rear seat with the build
sheet still in it: View this Item on eBay at

It will take some time to load, but the photo is waaaay down the page.

The upholstery guys got all the interior parts on the feed line and
lore has it the the workers were responseable for emptying their trash,
so they stuffed the build sheet in the upholstery to get rid of it.

Hope this helps, Ray

Hello Everyone. I know this has been discussed before....but, what
information will be gleaned from sending the vin numbers to chrysler
on our cars for
the purpose of obtaining a build sheet?? Will this tell us the
original engine,
options, paint, trans. and diff., etc??? Just how detailed will the
info.
be??? Thanks in advance! Oh, the weather here in N.O. is sunny and
