[FWDLK] heating problem cured on the 426 Interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all the guys that offered advice on the heating problem of the D500-3 426.. I finally found the problem..  I went out and bought a laser heat gun that will tell you the degrees of anything… as I went around the engine when it was running,, the radiator was running 205-210,  the block on the rt side was running about the same,,, went I pointed at the left side head, it was up to 225-235-…  so that  told me it was in the head or rt block side.. so I pulled both heads,,  in the left head in one of the water galleries that runs full length of the  head was a wire about 1/8 inch in diameter,  it went from one end to the to the other.. as I pulled it out, it was very soft and rust,, along with it came all kinds of crap.  From gasket material to pieces of rust, etc… after I cleaned it good and  put the  head back on, it now runs 170….so,, that’s one for the books,,,  it looks like at the time the head was cast,  a piece of wire was used to ether  hold the head or what ever, I don’t know for sure what it was used for but it was defiantly left in the head from its creation….  Thanks to all for your help and advice,,,
