Re: [FWDLK] looking for ideas for a 1956 desoto recently picked up

I am certainly with you on getting the car assuming the price is right.  The '56 is the most popular year for DeSoto collecting.  After that I differ from others perhaps.  Take a long hard look at the project ahead of you before you dive in.  Estimate from ads and knowledge of your own abilities vs. professional help required, what it might take to restore this car.   From "in a field" to proudly driving down the road can be a very long and expensive journey.  I'd urge you to consider parting this car out, putting the money gained in your pocket and then looking for the next, best car you can afford.   It may shorten your journey.

Subject: looking for ideas for a 1956 desoto recently picked up

  hello,

i'm  going to pick up a  1956  desoto.
The  car has  been in a  field  for a long  time.  I  feel  i'm   rescuing it  from  certain  scrap  metal  folks.
It  has  no  motor, trans, radiator or  driveshaft.
I  would  enjoy  some  ideas  on  where or  if.  there are  replacement  items  for this  car..?

 Thanks,

  Ray  Rau.
