The problem is that it's NOT one parrish or town, it's lots of them. At least be aware of what's going on in YOUR town, and be prepared to fight this kind of seizing of property rights. A simple town meeting, and an ordinance gets passed with few in attendance. Very hard to fight it then.
Attend all town meetings, it's serious business! 
And let's do our part and keep our properties looking neat and try to keep the cars orderly and not covered up with fenders and hoods. Don't give them any ammunition to beat you with.

Mu near-by town of 5000 just passed some of these laws. I live out in the country, and the neighbors ain't gonna complain about your stuff, 'cause that gives you the right to complain about theirs, and they ain't putting up with that crap! Best of all, there's no one to complain to.....no rules!
